Shoulder pain can be managed in a variety of ways, and there are numerous procedures that can be performed.

Treatment can vary, and your surgeon will take you through the different methods of managing your particular condition.

Shoulder arthroscopy is a surgical procedure in which a camera called an arthroscope, is inserted into the shoulder joint. The benefits of arthroscopy are smaller incisions, faster healing, and less scarring. Depending on your surgery, your surgeon will guide you on the best post operative management for surgical success. Pain medications will be provided, and dressings are placed over the surgical site to cover the wounds. Swelling of the shoulder may be present after the surgery which is normal. Placing ice on the shoulder for 20 minutes, 3-4 times a day helps reduce the swelling. You can return to normal activities when your surgeon instructs, and a follow up appointment is made to monitor your progress.
