Dr Joe Coory is a highly experienced orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty fellowship training and a special interest in surgery of the shoulder and upper limb. He was among the first surgeons in the world to adopt and perform robotic Total Shoulder Replacement. His expertise also includes arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilisation, and minimally invasive nerve decompression procedures such as endoscopic carpal tunnel release.

Personal Overview
After completing his orthopaedic training in Australia, Dr Coory was awarded the prestigious Bateman Orthopaedics Advanced Arthroplasty and Trauma Fellowship. This provided further subspecialisation in complex joint reconstruction, including tendon transfers for irreparable rotator cuff tears and both primary and revision joint replacement of the shoulder, elbow, and knee.
Dr Coory is actively involved in training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons, participating in a recognised fellowship program in Australia that mentors international orthopaedic fellows.
With a strong foundation in research, Dr Coory has authored award-winning studies in both non-operative and surgical management of shoulder conditions. He remains committed to advancing orthopaedic care through ongoing research in partnership with the University of the Sunshine Coast.
As someone who enjoys surfing and spending time in the ocean, Dr Coory understands the importance of staying active and is focused on helping his patients return to movement and lifestyle as quickly and safely as possible through evidence-based, accelerated recovery protocols.
