Synvisc Injection

Synvisc® is an injection that supplements your natural joint fluid to temporarily relieve hip or knee pain and improve lubrication and cushioning in your joint. What’s Involved?

In an examination with your orthopaedic surgeon or surgical nurse practitioner, you will be advised whether you are a candidate for Synvisc-One® or Synvisc®, depending on the level of your pain. The injection will be administered in the clinic as an outpatient procedure.

Monovisc® (https://monovisc.ca/en/monovisc) is a viscosupplement that contains a gel-like substance manufactured from ultra-pure, non-avian hyaluronic acid that supplements the hyaluronic acid naturally found in the synovial fluid of a healthy knee.

A single, intra-articular injection of Monovisc® can provide osteoarthritis knee pain relief that’s felt as early as 2 weeks following the injection and that can last up to 6 months.

Cingal® combines two well-established treatments in a single injection, providing the benefits of both an approved corticosteroid and a proprietary high concentration of hyaluronic acid.
